• Clean your gutters out
• Have sidewalk salt on standby
• Make sure your generator runs properly
• Have your chimney cleaned out
• Order or split your own firewood
• Make sure smoke and carbon monoxide detectors work properly and batteries are changed
• Inspect your roof
• Make sure doors and windows are sealed
• Winterize your sprinkler systems and pool
• Check the drainage system around your home
• Cover or store patio furniture away
• Run your snowblower before a big storm hits, and keep a shovel on hand
